Your purchase limit will be set based on your profile at registration. This purchase limit is tailored for each shopper and may be amended over time.
When you choose the MoPay financing option, you will be asked to provide or confirm some details (KYC) about your financial situation. We use this information to assess whether we believe you are able to meet your repayment obligations. The purchase limit will depend on this assessment and may vary for each shopper. It may also increase over time.
Minimum purchase limit is Rs500 and maximum purchase limit is Rs50,000. Credit lines may be increased over time based on usage.
There is an annual subscription fee of Rs 300 which has been waived off exceptionally for 2024.
It can be within minutes, or it can take up to 2 working days to issue your full eligible limit.
In-store

Your first payment will be charged either within the current month or the following month, depending on when you make your purchase.
Transactions from the 1st to the 23rd of a month will have their first installment due at the end of the same month, while those from the 24th of a month will have their first installment due the end of the next month Transactions from the 1st to the 23rd of a month will have their first installment due at the end of the same month, while those from the 24th of a month will have their first installment due the end of the next month.
For instance:
- If you make a purchase using your MoPay purchase line on 23rd June 2024, your first payment will be due on 30th June 2024, and subsequent payments will be on the last day of each month from June to October 2024.
- If you make a purchase using your MoPay purchase line on 23rd June 2024, your first payment will be due on 30th June 2024, and subsequent payments will be on the last day of each month from June to October 2024.If you make a purchase on the 24th of June 2024, your first payment will be due on 31st July 2024. If you make a purchase on the 24th of June 2024, your first payment will be due on 31st July 2024.
In addition to the instalment amount, a late payment fee of Rs50 per instalment missed and per agreement will be applied. Should you miss a payment due date, your line of credit will be temporarily frozen. To unfreeze it, you will need to pay the missed instalment along with a late fee of Rs 50.
Please note that missing one or more payments may lead to the revocation of your credit limit.
Go to settings on MoFinans, go to your MoPay Card and click on Cancel MoPay Credit Line.
Please note that a line of credit cannot be cancelled where there are outstanding balances.
We invite you to visit the merchant where the goods were bought to proceed with your grievances.
If you have already paid for an agreement and have a dispute leading to a return or cancellation, any payments made for the transaction will be refunded. For partial returns, the payment can be directly adjusted towards your adjusted transaction.

MoPay Plus by Cim Finance is an interest-based credit line that allows you to shop now and pay later in 12 instalments at selected merchants across various industries.
With MoPay Plus, you can access a wide range of sectors, including flights and accommodation, and repay over 12 months at a 12% annual interest rate.
Mopay Plus is available only on the MoFinans App.

MoPay Plus is available to any user who downloads and registers on MoFinans. This also implies new Cim Finance clients. For existing customers, a manual process has been set up in the meantime to offer access to MoPay Plus (through email for eligible customers)
Applicants must not be over 69 years of age at the time of application.
The credit limits are as follows:
Minimum credit line: Rs 2,500
Maximum credit line: Rs 150,000
Note: Credit limits may be adjusted over time based on usage and customer behaviour.
Application timeline
It may take up to two working days to grant a full eligible limit, provided no additional documents are required.

National Identity Card (NIC)
Proof of address (utility bill: CEB, CWA, or telecom provider)
Proof of relationship (if the proof of address is not in the applicant’s name):

MoPay Plus can currently be used in-store only:

The minimum purchase amount is:

You may purchase multiple items from one or several shops, provided you remain within your approved credit limit.
When applying, you are assessed for both MoPay and MoPay Plus. After approval, you may choose your preferred product at the time of selection.

Limit increase, decrease, or cancellation: No fee
If an instalment is missed, a late payment fee of Rs 50 per instalment per agreement will apply.
If a partial payment is made and the full EMI is not settled by the due date, the following month’s payment will include:
Rs 50 late fee
Outstanding balance
Full next monthly instalment
Example: If the monthly instalment is Rs 200 and only Rs 100 is paid, the following month the customer must pay: Rs 50 (late fee) + Rs 100 (balance) + Rs 200 (next instalment) = Rs 350 total.
The repayments must be made via instant payment (IPS) on the MoFinans app ONLY from the linked bank account.
Steps to repay on MoFinans:
Select the agreement and click “Pay Now” on the dashboard.
The linked bank account (registered during application) will appear by default.
Proceed with payment.
Your repayment schedule is available on the MoFinans app. You will also receive notifications after purchase and reminders before each due date.
A payment plan outlines your monthly instalment amount and due dates.
After scanning the QR code at the merchant, you must review and accept the payment plan before completing the purchase. A copy of the agreed plan is sent to your registered email address.
First payment timing:
Purchases made from the 1st to the 23rd of the month → first instalment due at the end of the same month.
Purchases made from the 24th onwards → first instalment due at the end of the following month.
Example:
Purchase on 23 June 2024 → first payment due 30 June 2024.
Purchase on 24 June 2024 → first payment due 31 July 2024.
If you miss an instalment:
A Rs 50 late fee per instalment per agreement applies.
Your credit line will be temporarily frozen.
To unfreeze it, you must pay the overdue instalment plus the late fee.
Repeated missed payments may result in revocation of your credit limit.
Closing or foreclosing:
Customers may close either one or both credit lines.

Partial refund
If a partial refund is approved:
Any amount already paid will be adjusted against the remaining balance.
A revised repayment schedule will be issued.
Full refund
If a full refund is approved and payments have already been made:
The refunded amount will be returned to you within seven working days.
A credit limit is restored after a complete payment for a full agreement.
Secondly, the credit limit can be restored following a partial/ full return. The limit is then restored by the returned amount immediately.

Increase or decrease credit limit: Currently, increasing or decreasing the credit limit is not available.
You should contact or visit the merchant where the goods were purchased to resolve any issues.
Refunds for disputed transactions:
If a payment has already been made and a return or cancellation is approved, the amount will be refunded.
For partial returns, the payment will be adjusted against the revised transaction balance.
